About Us

Shampooch Dog Grooming – East Lothian A calm, respectful grooming space where nervous and sensitive dogs are supported with understanding, patience and choice.

At Shampooch, grooming is about more than appearance — it’s about emotional wellbeing. Many dogs find handling difficult, especially if they’re anxious, sensitive or have experienced fear in the past. My work brings together gentle methods such as Tellington TTouch, ACE Freework (Modules 1–3 completed), Fear Free principles and cooperative care to help dogs feel safer, more comfortable and more understood during grooming.

I believe every dog deserves to be listened to. Their behaviour is communication, and my role is to respond with kindness, clarity and respect. Alongside grooming, I’m committed to sharing these gentle approaches with dog guardians, groomers, trainers and rescue teams, so more dogs can benefit from compassionate handling.

Your dog doesn’t need to be perfect. They just need to feel safe.

Prices below are for guidance as there are factors taken into consideration; Size and breed of dog; coat condition (matting and thickness); age of the dog; medical conditions; behaviour (nervous/aggressive); grooming history.

Full Grooms

includes pre groom health check, pre bath brush and comb, shampooed twice using top quality salon shampoo and conditioner. Nails and pads trimmed, ear clean and sanitary trim. From £45

Nagayu CO2 Bathing System

This Bathing System originated in Japan and is designed to provide a a carbon dioxide -rich bathing experience. It can help skin problems such as hot spots, yeast build up, insect bites, and dry skin. £15

Bath and Tidy

Includes sanitary trim, paw trim and face trim. £35

Cleany Teeth Ultrasound Toothbrush

Cleany Teeth uses ultrasound technology to remove plaque and tartar without brushing. The ultrasound, Cleany Teeth paste and water help to breakdown and eliminate dental deposits without traditional brushing.

Puppy Introductions first visit (up to 6 months of age)

We suggest that puppies are brought in at regular intervals for short sessions.
At Shampooch we chunk the whole grooming process down starting with a brush and comb out. As we go through each stage we will add in clipper noise, scissor noise, and then to a bath once the puppy is comfortable with all stages. We use Tellington TTouch Techniques to help calm puppies. £25
